The Department of Business Administration,formerly known as the Marketing Major, was established in 1994 and is among thefirst educational establishments in China to provide business administrationcourses. In order to meet the needs of society, in 2021, the College ofEconomics and Management adjusted its departments according to disciplines,integrating Business Administration (Food economics and Management), Marketingand Logistics management to form the Department of Business Administration. In2021, the major of Business Administration (Food Economics and Management) wasawarded the first-class professional construction site in Shanghai.
The faculty members comprising theDepartment of Business Administration are committed, possess a high standard ofinstruction, and are proficient in scientific research. At present, the facultycomprises 26 individuals: 10 associate professors, 4 professors, 10 teachers withexperience in overseas research, 2 doctoral supervisors, 11 master'ssupervisors, and 23 doctoral teachers. Over 90% of the faculty members possesseither management consulting or enterprise work experience. The faculty membershave presided over a number of projects at or above the provincial andministerial level in recent years, authored over 200 papers, published over 30relevant textbooks and monographs, and generated a substantial number ofresearch findings in numerous fields, including aquatic product marketing,brand management, food safety management, food crisis management, foodlogistics and supply chain management, and food crisis management. Faculty membersengage in active participation in significant national strategic services andenterprise consulting services, capitalizing on their professional advantages.
